Your favorite brew gear (Pour Over, French Press, or Cold Brew setup)
🔁 General Brewing Ratio
Standard ratio:
1 gram of coffee to 15–17 grams of water
(For example, 20g of coffee to ~300g of water)
🔹 Pour Over (V60 / Chemex)
Best for: Clean, crisp cups that highlight flavor notes
Grind size: Medium-fine (like sea salt)
Ratio: 25g coffee to 400g water (14 oz)
Brew time: 2.5–3.5 minutes
Steps:
-
Place filter in your brewer and rinse it with hot water (this removes paper taste and preheats your vessel).
-
Add 25g of freshly ground coffee.
-
Start a timer and pour 50g of hot water (200°F) to bloom the coffee. Let it sit for 30–45 seconds.
-
Slowly pour in the remaining water in small circles over 2 minutes.
-
Let the coffee finish dripping, remove the filter, and enjoy your brew.
Pro tip: Swirl the brewer gently at the end to mix flavors evenly.
🔹 French Press
Best for: Full-bodied, bold flavor
Grind size: Coarse (like breadcrumbs)
Ratio: 30g coffee to 500g water (17 oz)
Brew time: 4 minutes
Steps:
-
Add ground coffee to your French press.
-
Pour hot water evenly over the grounds and stir gently.
-
Place the lid on top with plunger pulled up.
-
After 4 minutes, slowly press down the plunger.
-
Serve immediately—don’t let it sit too long or it will over-extract.
Try this with our Daily Driver blend for a bold, dependable brew.
🔹 Cold Brew
Best for: Smooth, low-acid iced coffee
Grind size: Extra coarse (like cracked pepper)
Ratio: 100g coffee to 1 liter water (~1 cup to 34 oz)
Steep time: 12–16 hours (refrigerated)
Steps:
-
Add coarsely ground coffee to a large jar or cold brew pitcher.
-
Pour in filtered water and stir to saturate all grounds.
-
Cover and refrigerate for 12–16 hours.
-
Strain through a fine mesh or paper filter.
-
Serve over ice. Dilute with water or milk to taste.
Keeps up to 7 days in the fridge. Try Cold Start Cold Brew for an unreal cold brew experience and
